Who we are

Nilo is made by Lemos Navegacao e Transporte Fluvial Ltda (CNPJ 60.197.642/0001-54), Av. Andre Araujo 2721, Edif Workspace by Embassy, Pavmto Superior, Sala 449 Coworking, Manaus, Amazonas 69060-000, Brazil ("we"). We decide how the data described here is used. If you have a question about this policy or your data, write to us.

What Nilo keeps on your iPhone

Nilo is a routine app. Everything it needs to work lives on your phone:

None of this is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes what is on your phone, but not your iCloud backups (see below).

Screen Time

To block the apps you pick, Nilo uses Apple's Screen Time features (the Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity frameworks). Apple's app picker gives Nilo opaque tokens for your choices, not the apps' names, and those tokens never leave your phone. Nilo cannot see what you do in other apps, how long you use them, or anything you type.

iCloud backup

When you are signed in to iCloud, Nilo backs your routine up to your own iCloud account: your habits (including their titles and emoji), your history, your guardian's strength and your week setting. The apps you protect and your time ceiling are not included. The backup is stored in your private iCloud database, under your Apple Account. We cannot read it.

You can restore a backup from the app's settings. To delete your backups, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Storage or Manage Account Storage, and choose Nilo. Deleting the app does not delete them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, and we never see your payment details. Nilo uses RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier for your installation, your App Store receipt, your device type and iOS version, and when you last used the app. Nilo does not give RevenueCat your name or email address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for how they handle it.

Analytics

Nilo sends a small number of usage events to PostHog, in the United States, so we can see where people get stuck between installing the app and keeping a routine. They record moments such as the app opening, onboarding steps, your answer to the Screen Time request, habits created and ticked, session lengths asked for, and subscriptions started or restored, with simple counts such as how many apps you picked.

Each event carries a random installation identifier, the app version, the iOS version and the device model. The identifier is kept across launches and is not tied to your name or Apple Account. A reinstall starts a new one. Nilo never includes your name, your onboarding answers, your habits' titles or emoji, which apps you protect or your time ceiling.

Nilo does not add your IP address or location to these events. Your IP address can reach PostHog when an event is sent; our PostHog project is set to anonymize it and not to look up your location. See PostHog's privacy policy.

The app has no setting to turn analytics off. It also does not show you the identifier, so we generally cannot find the events that came from a particular person. We keep these events only as long as we need them to understand how the app is used.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the providers named in this policy: Apple, RevenueCat and PostHog. They must give your data the same or equal protection as this policy. They may process it in the United States and other countries, so it may leave the country you live in.

Children

Nilo is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Nilo keeps your routine on your device and in your own iCloud, so you control it directly. Depending on where you live, including under Brazil's LGPD and the GDPR in the EEA and UK, you may have the right to confirm whether we hold your data, access, correct, delete or move it, object to how we use it, and complain to a data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).

You can turn off Screen Time access in iOS Settings at any time, and deleting the app stops analytics events. To use your other rights or ask us to delete data, write to us and we will answer. Nilo has no account and does not show the analytics identifier, so we may not be able to match analytics events or purchase records to you. Apple handles your payment records.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will also say so on this page.
